Students Dress in your QUE PASA outfit for tomorrow's school presentation in the afternoon.
Telus Sparks field trip forms are due tomorrow May 4th. Today's Learning: In Spanish, students have been learning Spring Vocabulary. Today we constructed oral sentences using the following structure: Hay___________en la primavera. Vocabulary: SOL CIELO LLUVIA CONEJOS MARIQUITAS MARIPOSA OSOS INSECTOS HORMIGAS CIERVO PAJARO ABEJA ARBOL FLORES CESPED Volunteer Tea
Volunteer Tea will be held at Rosscarrock school on May 17, 2018 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. An invite was sent home today to parents who have volunteered this year for: school events, field trips and in the classroom . If by chance you've volunteered but did not receive an invite, please contact me. Today's Learning: Some students have begun to build their monsters today. There are few students who are revising their work to include 3-d shapes and some are finding creative ways to solve solutions for making a sphere shape. Today as some students began to build, our conversations were about using measurement to make the sides of shapes the same when cutting them and how to make the sides straight. I would like to invite parent volunteers to come to our classroom next week to help us continue our work. On Tuesday afternoon and on Thursday and possibly Friday depending on how things go. Please contact me if you're available to set up a day. Please talk with your child about materials they need. If there is something at home they can use, please send it. I will also be providing materials to students. Updates:
- Tomorrow we will have library. Please return books for exchange. - Que Pasa forms were due back on April 30th. Please continue to return forms. - Telus Sparks forms are due back on May 4th Que Pasa Dress Rehearsal May 4th Please read my email regarding the dress rehearsal on May 4th. We would like to ask that children dress for the presentation according to their participation in either song or dance. Today's Learning: In class we have been learning to improve our writing through the practice of "fix it" sentences. Students are learning to recognize when to place capitals, finger spaces, and punctuate their work. They are following the process of: read it, fix it, and write it.. We worked on fixing these sentences : 1. owls are nocturnal animals 2. it means they are active at night 3. owlshave large eyes 4. owls eat mice and other small animals 5. do youlike owls In Social Studies we are continuing to practice and present our cultural pizzas. Please continue to finish working on the pizza and return as we will be finishing presentations soon. In Math, we have been practicing doubles and doubles +1 using the counting by 2's strategy to double a number. |
