A message from Ms. Goodwin Regarding Stephen's Backpack: Dear families, Thank you to all the parents and students who have donated and purchased toys in support of the Stephen’s backpack project. Rosscarrock School has almost reached it’s campaign goal of filling 34 backpacks! The school still has 9 backpacks that require filling. Please contact Brenna Fraser [email protected] by December 11 if you & your family are interested in picking up a backpack to fill together with new items for a child in need. Here is a list of suggested items for the backpacks. http://www.stephensbackpacks.com/stephens-backpacks-projects/what-goes-into-a-stephens-backpacks-backpack/ Please note that a backpack and a stuffy are provided. Filled backpacks need to be returned to the school by December 14. Thank you for your continued support for Stephen’s Backpack. Our Learning: In Math we have been learning about Par e Impar ( Even and Odd). This week we worked with blocks to discover what Par e Impar mean in Spanish. We know that a Par is like having a friend, there is always two and they're Felices (happy). Srta. Sandra drew a two friends with happy faces to help us remember. Impar is when there is one, and that can be lonely and sad (triste). Srta. Sandra helped us remember with a picture of a sad face. We took 20 blocks and Srta. Sandra asked us to take 3 of them and make a group. We learned it was Impar because one was left over. We practiced with numbers 4 to 20. Then we discovered something! We found a patterns: 1) impar, par, impar, par.... 2) triste, feliz, triste, feliz.... 3) 1,3,5,7,9, .... are odd and they repeat with numbers 11,13,15,17 etc 4) 2,4,6,8,10.... are even, like counting by 2's!
