Today in Spanish Students worked on our Monster project. They are finishing describing their monster and are working on editing and making a good copy of their writing. The next task will involve designing a monster and making a plan with materials and deciding how to construct it.
During English literacy (Daily 5), Students have reached a stamina of 20 minutes of reading and writing! In class we are celebrating student work at the end of our centers. Students share and read aloud journal entries to the class and can read aloud books they are practicing. For example, to share tricky words they can now read and tell which strategy they used. This week students are making individual writing goals to work towards becoming a better writer. Students brainstormed and identified what good writing looks like through discussion. Srta. Sandra recorded the information students gave and together we decided what a 1,2 ,3 and 4 piece of writing would include. Next, students took their own writing journals and wrote their name on the target indicating where they thought they might be currently. Students began to identify what is missing from their writing and areas for improvement. Below are a few pictures of their thinking and their hard work.
