Today's Learning: Today was a very special day in our classroom. Students spent the morning with Scientist Mark learning about light and colors. They conducted several experiments, including, one they got to take home which they can construct with an adult to continue learning about light and color. Students learned about: primary colors, Secondary colors, color mixing, refraction of light, prisms, and the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV). Students can watch an episode of Bill Nye over the long weekend to reinforce their learning. We talked about friendship and made card holders for the valentine's we received from peers today. In the afternoon, Cst. Gary Hartmann come to our class to teach us about police as community helpers. He answered questions and shared interesting information about his uniform and job. Next he read to us a special story called "Odd Violet." We learned that we all are very special and can use our unique and special qualities to be the best we can be to others. We brain stormed a list of qualities together and began a star activity that when finished, Cst. Gary Hartmann will come back to see everyone's work. Below are a few pictures from our day!
