Sports Day
Dear Families, We are looking for enthusiastic parent volunteers to help run a station during our Sports Day. Our Sports Day will be held outdoors on June 26 from 12:37 pm-2:50 pm. If you have a current police security clearance on file with the school and you are willing to volunteer, please follow the link to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0c4dadaf23a6f58-sports In the event of inclement weather we will move and modify the events to occur inside. Volunteers will be emailed the morning of the event if plans change. Thank you for your continued support. Brenna Fraser Today's Learning: In science, we learned about the life cycle of a sun flower. As we learn to take care of our sunflower plant, we are recording our observations of the changes we are noticing as our plant grows. In gym, we have been enjoying going outside and learning how to play kick ball with Mr. Patrick. We are learning to pass the ball and take turns. In Math, we learned about re-grouping during our numbers talk using the 10 frames below. Here are our class observations: 1) Move 1 dot in the first ten frame next to the 3 dots 8+8=16 2) Keep the dot in the first ten frame beside the 3 dots to make a group of 4. Make 4 groups of 4. 4+4+4+4=16 3) Move the two dots in the first frame to the second frame to make a group of 10. 10 +6=16 What we know about re-grouping. What is it? - when you move dots from one place to another to make new groups - it helps to make more equations to come up with solutions - picturing numbers, you have to imagine them moving
