Jump Rope for Heart This morning, we had our Heart & Stroke Foundation JUMP Rope For Heart assembly. We learned about the importance of heart health and the ways that skipping can provide a quick and effective fitness workout. Skipping activities will take place during Phys Ed classes, and we would like to offer the opportunity for students and families to fundraise online and collect donations for heart disease and stroke research. For students and families that may be interested in fundraising, students have received a donation envelope. For your convenience, there is also an online option for collecting donations. Please note that all donations will be due back to Rosscarrock School by Thursday May 31. Thank you for your support! How to get started 1. Visit JumpRopeForHeart.ca and Register for JUMP 2. Set up your personal fundraising page 3. Send donation request emails to friends, family and colleagues If you need assistance, please visit JumpRopeForHeart.ca and check out the instructional videos and step by step “how-to” resources. Today's Learning: Health We have been learning how to solve problems we encounter outside at recess. Today we used a real recess problem: " No, I don't want you to play. You always play together. I want to play with her only. You can play with someone else. I never get to play with her. " Sharing friends is sometimes hard. Today we tried to role play solutions to this problem. We came up with a few ideas. Please talk with your child at home about how they would go about finding a solution to this scenario. Math In Math, we have extended the question about how many fingers do 2 students have? 4 students have? etc. to a much bigger question: Hay 24 estudiantes en nuestra clase. Cada estudiante tiene dos manos. ¿Cuántos dedos hay en total en nuestra clase? (There are 24 students in our class. Each students has 2 hands. How many fingers in total are their in our class?) What are some strategies you could use to solve this problem? (You can post your answer to the blog or discuss at home. We will continue to work on this question tomorrow in Math.)
